The price listed for a large part of that property with Teresa Luttrell, a real estate broker, was for just over $900,000.
Owner of the property Dee Ownby will be leaving the community.
"I've been there since 1988 and it's time to spend some time with the grandbabies," Ownby told the Seymour Herald. "I'm very sad to leave the community."
Ownby had the property listed with Luttrell over three months and was unsuccessful at moving it at the bargain price.
Most of the participates at the auction were completely unaware that the property had been listed with a realtor.
Todd Thompson, of Thompson Carr told the Seymour Herald "Looking back, we were very happy that the auction was well attended. Seymour is a hot market place and there were plenty of brokers and investment people participating at the auction."
Thompson repeated a common truism, " ‘Good property sells good' and this was good property. The location is good, the income generated by the property was good, and the attendance was good, thanks to good advertising in your paper, the Seymour Herald, all added up to a great event."
