Only 21 slots remain for the 7th Annual Southern Exposure Cardboard Sled Race that will take place Friday, February 8, 2008 at Ober Gatlinburg. Awards will be given for the “Fastest,” “Most Stylish” and the “Slowest” cardboard sleds. Entrants will be accepted on a first-come, first-paid basis. A skiing and snowboard slalom race will be held at noon and skiing and snowboarding will be held at 2:00 pm. Prizes will be awarded in each event.
The sled race will be broadcast live on WBIR-TV’s Live at Five show. The event is sponsored by WBIR-TV, WIVK-FM and Ober Gatlinburg. All proceeds go to the Helen Ross McNabb Center.
The Helen Ross McNabb Center is a regional, not-for-profit integrated system of mental health, substance abuse, and social services founded in 1948. It was the first community mental health center in Tennessee and now serves 7,000 children, adults and families in 19 East Tennessee counties.
