According to Chief George Potter of the Perry, Georgia Police Department, one of his officers was driving through a Holiday Inn parking lot at 7:30 this morning and noticed the red Chevrolet S-10 pickup that was the subject of a BOLO (be on the lookout) placed by the Knoxville FBI office. The officer then noticed a man fitting the description of Bobby Joe Phillips approaching the pickup. The officer arrested Phillips without incident. The S-10 has been turned over to the Warner Robins, Georgia Police Department for processing. Phillips will be housed at the Houston County, Georgia jail.
Investigation has identified Phillips as having robbed seven financial institutions: The First Georgia Community Bank in Covington, Georgia on September 20, 2007; the First Tennessee Bank on Cedar Bluff Road in Knoxville on October 1, 2007 and again on October 12, 2007; the SunTrust Bank in Suwanee, Georgia on October 24, 2007; the Tennessee Members 1st Federal Credit Union in Knoxville, Tennessee on November 1, 2007, and again on November 9, 2007, and a bank in Warner Robins, Georgia on November 8, 2007.
The public is reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Mr. Phillips is old school. Make no mistake, robbing banks is just plain wrong. That being said Bobby Joe robbed banks like the stick up men in the days of yore. You show you are armed, you calmly request the money (no point making a seen) you exit the bank like any other patron and head to the Holiday Inn to count todays take. Simple. Todays robbers are thugs in comparison. It's usually going to be a fast food place. Usually will include 3 or 4 guys (9 times out of 10 two are related) fifty pct. of the time one or more are ex employees, it happens just before/after closing or opening time. And now days somebody is wounded or killed for no apperant reason. I'm thinking Mr.Phillips is going to spend his golden years in a Federal facility (possibly his plan all along?) maybe he can teach these young guys a thing or two about class.
well he is going back home. Home meaning jail
