Juveniles arrested Kodak KOA Campground

Two juveniles were arrested Sunday, May 27th and charged with arson, criminal trespassing, attempted arson, endangering emergency personnel and other pending charges. Two other juveniles are likely to be charged Tuesday, May 29th.

The two juveniles reportedly set fire to 2 bales of hay in or near a storage building on the KOA property. The resulting fire caused a small propane tank to ignite which then apparently led to a small hydrochloric acid spill. The storage building will likely be a loss estimated at $30,000.

John Fox-the Emergency Management Director, the Sevierville Police Department, Homeland Security, the Interagency Hazardous Devices Team and the Kodak Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the scene. The two juveniles, at last report, were being held at the Sevier County Juvenile Detention Center.
