The skeletal remains of a male body was found off of Creek Hollow Way Saturday afternoon in Sevier County.
According to Sevier County Sheriff, Ron Seals, Sevier Co. Sheriffs Dept. received a call that a body had been found at a location off Creek Hollow Way in Sevier County, at around 1:00 PM on Saturday May 26th 2007.
Sheriffs Officers along with the Sevier Co. Sheriffs Dept. Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene.
An investigation was initiated at the scene and the detectives along with U.T. Dept. of Anthropology personnel recovered the skeletal remains which have yet to be positively identified at time of release.
At app. 2:00 AM on Sunday Morning detectives found a person of interest off Jobey Green Hollow Rd.
The individual, John Steven Garner, age 38 of Sevierville was brought to the Sevier Co. Sheriffs Dept. where later Sunday morning was charged with First Degree Murder of the unidentified male.
Garner was booked into Sevier Co. Jail and will be held until arraignment.
The victim has been transported to the UT Forensic Center where a post mortem investigation will be conducted and the ID of the person will be determined.
