Congressman Duncan to Recognize Aspiring Artists at Reception for Congressional Art Competition

MARCH 7, 2007 Washington, D.C. - This week, Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr. (R-TN) will hold a reception and public viewing for entries in the 2007 Congressional Art Competition. High school students from around the Second District were invited to take part in the competition and the winning piece of art will be displayed within the United States Capitol. The reception and viewing will be held in the Great Hall of the Knoxville Museum of Art this Friday, March 9, from 5:30pm until 7:00pm. Congressman Duncan will be on hand, as well as the contest judges and representatives from the Knoxville Museum of Art, a co-sponsor of the event. Each participant in attendance will receive a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for their hard work. The winning artist will be named at approximately 6:00pm.
