Countless people observed one of the areas largest fires Friday night around 8:00 PM.

A massive fire burned at the former Maplewood Farms shopping center in Sevier County that could be seen for miles.

The building at 2510 Winfield Dunn Parkway, Kodak was a converted strip mall housing the New Hope Church of God's thrift store. It is located on Highway 66 in Sevier County.
The fire was still smoldering when the firefighters left in the early hours of Saturday. The fire completely destroyed the structure. According to dispatchers the debris will probably continue to smolder for the next couple of days.
According to reports there was no one in the building when it caught fire, and there were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious but it is under investigation.
