After working with the community during the planning of the center, the public spoke of what they would like to have at their disposal.
The new center is a 6,500 square-foot-facility with a pool and plenty of other senior focused amenities.
This is the fourth such center built, renovated or improved by the County. The other centers are in Halls, West Knoxville, and Corryton. All centers are designed to promote recreational, social, and educational opportunities for active adults 50 and over. Activities range from fitness and healthcare programs to computer instruction.
The Public Building Authority, working with architectural firm Adams Craft Herz and Walker, Inc. and Richardson Turner Construction, managed the project.
