Thursday afternoon a pickup truck was burning uncontrollably as the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene at 2494 Oakview Lane in Seymour.
The pickup truck was positioned next to the driveway.
Sevier County Sheriff's Deputy Katherine Breeden told the Seymour Herald that the owner was pulling in to this driveway got stuck in the ditch and when he tried to get our of the driveway, it started on fire.
The owner who wanted to remain unidentified was attempting to spray the pickup with the household garden hose when the SVFD arrived on the scene.
The call came in to dispatch at 5:59.
The total details of the event are unclear as the unidentified man, alleged to be the owner of the pickup did not want to file a report with the Sheriff's department.

I believe the SVFD deserves a great deal of praise for the service provided to the community. I'm glad we can sleep knowing there is a dedicated group of people standing at the ready to put their liveson the line for their neighbors whenever they are called.
Thank You SVFD!!
I can't believe how fast the Firemen were there. Really fast.
The fire deptartment has staffing during the day now. I'm sure that had something to do with the quick action. if the community would come up with more donations they would be able to put more people on.
I believe that, if the citizens of Seymour would band together and push for incorporation, that SVFD would have plenty of funding and we as citizens could have more services. WE also wouldn't have the county commisioners shoving their backroom deals down our throats.
Why not form a taxing district for fire service. The boot donation thing is kind of a relic of the past. It cannot fund career firefighters nor can it keep pace with expansion.
I can't believe it because that is my great uncle! Thanks SVFD
