Dter the manufacture of meth and selling of illegal substances by increasing the punishment for the crime. Our prison systems are overwhelmed because of the move to 'rehabilitate offenders'. If we punished offenders instead of worrying about giving them three squares and a cotalong with time to clog our legal syastem with frivilous lawsuits we'd go far to reducing our crime rate. Better yet - I believe the sale and/or manufacture of drugs should be an offence that carries a life sentence. Importation and smuggling drugs should carry the same. In my humble opinion of course.
A life sentence will cost how much? You just said our prison system is overwhelmed. That seems like a Non sequitur to suggest adding life sentences to a overburdened system. I agree meth is horrible but do you really know how many are addicted and how much it would cost to lock up thousands more?
The point is: if there was PUNISHMENT rather than REHABILITATION, perhaps we as a society would send the meaasge that if one does the crime they get punished, not sent to an away camp. We really DO need the CHAINGANG punishment again. Give offenders a reason NOT to offend - THAT is true rehabilitation. The reason our society is so violent today is a result of the Bleeding Heart for the Offenders' rights anyway.
Yes, we need more drug addicts like Rush Limbaugh in jail where they belong.
i agree with a life sentence when they blame others for their problems. nobody puts a gun to your head and makes you use drugs or manufacture meth. if someone blames others for turning them onto meth then they haven't taken FULL responsibility for THEIR actions, and aren't owning up to their OWN problem! but when you start manufacturing it, then you obviously have a problem, and are supporting your habit. also if you are caught with manufacturing components then you obviously have been doing meth for more than a couple of months! a life sentence for the manufacture of meth would be a smart thing. now meth offenders also have to register as do sex offenders and that's a great thing. not that it will stop them from doing what they do but it lets people know who they are! some people do and say stupid things! like i don't know how all those meth manufacturing components got in my car, someone must have put them in there and i didn't know about it! a better education is the only thing to help people like that!
ANY DRUG DEALER THAT IS CAUGHT SHOULD BE SHOT!!!! They are a waste of space
