This Tuesday, a local group hosted a "Get Acquainted" type breakfast where new potential members could meet the current BNI (Business Network International) members and find out more about the organization.

Billed as the "The World's Largest Referral Organization" BNI has had a presence in Seymour for two plus years.

BNI is a business and professional networking organization that provides members with a structured environment for the development and exchange of quality business referrals as well as the opportunity to share ideas and contacts.

With approximately 15 members, the Seymour BNI group meets each Tuesday mornings at a local restaurant to eat breakfast, share experiences, and conduct business.

According to the presentation by one of the region members, it's a unique way to increase your business whether it's brand new or it has been established for years.

Dr. Lisa Beighle, owner of Mountain View Chiropractic and president of the Seymour Chapter BNI welcomed the members and potential members.

"It's a great way to increase your business, make friends, and get to know other businesses in the area," Beighle told the Seymour Herald.

Each attendee was given the opportunity to say a few words about themselves and their business.

Many personal testimonials were given by the members as to the amount of money they have derived as a direct result of being a member of BNI.

The type and variety of business that belong to the Seymour Chapter of BNI is varied. For example, Steven Knowles is a ventriloquist. Why and how would a ventriloquist benefit from BNI. "You never know who someone else knows," Knowles told the Seymour Herald. "I was introduced to the regional AFLAC manager through one of our members, Tonya Shelton of Privett Insurance. That could lead to huge money for me."

The group has car sales, real estate, beauty care products, insurance, massage, vision, and several more categories.

There can be only one member from each category. "That way you have no competition in the group," stated Beighle.

Membership applications were filled out by several of the visitors. If you are interested in finding out more about the Group, go to www.bnitn.comor contact Dr. Lisa Beighle at Mountain View Chiropractic at 579-4066.
