Local Scout to Receive Highest Honor

On Sunday, January 28, 2007, Devin Conway of Seymour will receive the highest rank in Boy Scout’s – the rank of Eagle Scout. The ceremony will also bestow this honor on Christopher Martin Burgess (also of Seymour). The public is invited to the ceremony, which will be held at Valley Grove Baptist Church at 3:00 PM. Devin has been a member of Troop 585 since moving to Seymour in 2002. Prior to that, Devin was a member of Troop 490 and then Troop 888 in Baton Rouge, LA. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow, Pellissippi Lodge 230. He represented the Lodge by attending the area conclave held this past year in Mississippi. Devin is also a member of Venturing Crew 585, which is a scouting program for older scouts. The main interest of Crew 585 is high adventure.
