Old family bibles wanted

published: October 09 2006 12:00 AM updated:: October 09 2006 12:00 AM
The Sevier County History Center, formerly known as the Sevier County Public Library System Genealogy Department, wants to celebrate October as National Family History Month in a unique way. The History Center is requesting that old family Bibles containing handwritten information about Sevier County families be brought to the History Center at the Benson Building, 321 Court Avenue in downtown Sevierville, on Wednesday, October 11 from 1-6pm. With your permission, the handwritten family histories contained in the Bibles will be copied and notarized and the SC History Center will retain a copy for library use. You will also receive information about preserving your Bible against future damage. For more information about this event or to schedule another time to visit the Sevier County History Center with your Bible, please call Theresa Williams or Tim Fisher at (865) 908-7988. A
