By Michele Karl michele@theheraldnewspapers.com A blue Chevy Blazer is to blame for the two vehicle accident on Chapman Hwy. at approximately 3:15 p.m. yesterday, according to witnesses at the scene. The accident occurred just south of Wye Rd. Two vehicles including a red Chevy Cavalier driven by Hector Alonzo of Pigeon Forge and a blue Chevy Blazer were headed southbound toward Sevierville when, according to witnesses, the driver of the Blazer squeezed the Cavalier over forcing the driver to go across the yellow line causing the Cavalier to hit a white Ford Thunderbird driven by Debra Bailey of Lafollette, TN. Bailey was taken to Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center with undisclosed injuries. Alonzo was treated at the scene. Wes Rutherford with the Sevier County Sheriffs Department was the officer on charge at the scene. He was assisted by other Sevier County Sheriff officers. The Sevier County Ambulance Service and the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department were on the scene. Witnesses were able to get a partial tag number of the blue Blazer. If anyone has any information on the accident they are asked to call the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department at 453-4668.
