Time for Kids’ Ready, Set, Write!

published: May 24 2006 12:00 AM updated:: May 24 2006 12:00 AM
The perfect activity handbook for children ages 8 -12 is en route to mailboxes across the area. Using a foolproof method, the book details the writing process in five sections:  prewriting; drafting; revising; editing and proofreading; and publishing. It uses a hands-on approach which engages students to practice writing by recording their own ideas, experiences and favorite words. Martha Pickerill, Managing Editor of Time for Kids and a veteran of the Children’s Television Workshop, attests to the benefits of continued learning throughout the summer. “Activities like practicing writing and learning new bits of information will make the transition back to the classroom easier, and more enjoyable, for parents and students alike.”  Ready, Set, Write! is scheduled to be in the mailbox soon. So have a look and see for yourself why it’s going to be a hit with kids this summer…and fall. Also due for release is the Time for Kids’ Almanac 2007; complete with thousands of tidbits from “Fact Monster,” by Information Please. Guaranteed to keep youngsters in grades 3-7 (and their parents) entertained and educated for hours.
