Seymour’s Ballback becomes a Marine

Pvt. Cory Ballback-Smith from Clermont Florida (now residing in Seymour Tn) graduated from Parris Island SC on January 27th, 2006. He underwent 3 months of extreme physical and mental conditioning to become a United States Marine. Currently he is stationed at Camp Geiger NC where he is doing his Marine Combat Training. In March he will be sent to 29 Palms California where his MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) school is located. Corys MOS is Data Systems (computers). The training there is 10 months in duration. Cory is a graduate of East Ridge High School in Clermont, FL., class of 2005. Cory was also very involved in photography, diving and annual staff during his Jr. & Sr. years at East Ridge. Proud Parents are Frank Ballback & Kelly Smith Brannon of Seymour.
