Participants came from across the continental United States to compete in an art show, the Clinky Classic 2, to benefit the Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center. Safe Harbor is a non-profit organization serving child-victims of sexual abuse and other severe forms of abuse and neglect in Tennessee’s Fourth Judicial District, consisting of Cocke, Grainger, Jefferson and Sevier counties.
The event was hosted by Kristina and Paul Francis, owners of Lucas Francis Studio in Dandridge, TN on December 9 and 10. “One of our contestants drove all the way here from Nevada to attend this event”, said Paul. “The turnout and response has been great.”
“The Clinky Classic 2 had some exquisite equine art competing”, said Barry Fain, president of Safe Harbor’s board of directors. “It reminds me just how woefully lacking I am in artistic ability to look at the pieces on display at this show.”
Competitors exhibited a multitude of pieces with gloss, matte and bisque finishes competing in a variety of categories, based on the style of horse, also with categories to recognize grand champions and reserves. Some exhibitors were collectors, while others also made many of the pieces they brought to the table.
“Paul’s and Kristina’s work on this benefit show was a great success”, noted Fain. “We truly appreciate their hard work to help Safe Harbor fulfill its mission to serve child abuse victims in our four-county district.”
Due to the response of the competitors and the success of this show, a similar event(s) in the future may be likely. The event raised over one thousand dollars from auction items alone for Safe Harbor.
Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to serve child-victims of severe abuse and neglect.
