Blount County Sheriff James Berrong said Thursday that the search of a residence on Gillenwater Court in Maryville turned up several pounds of marijuana, thousands of dollars in cash, and four men were taken into custody. Agents with the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force searched the Gillenwater Court residence Thursday afternoon following citizen complaints along with other intelligence gained through investigative techniques. Investigators recovered approximately 15 pounds of marijuana hidden inside a statue, along with more than $7,000 in U.S. currency. Three men who were at the residence at the time were arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to resell and possession of drug paraphernalia. They are as follows: Luis Eduardo Rodriguez, 31, Orlando Garcia, 29, and Christobol Mancilla Cardona, 38, all of Monterrey, Mexico. During the search of the home, a fourth individual arrived to purchase marijuana. Jamie Rocky Webb, 25, of Maryville, was taken into custody and charged with criminal attempt to possess a Schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana) for resale. All four men are being held at the Blount County Adult Detention Facility pending a hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court at 1:30 p.m. December 6. Bond amounts are currently not set. Holds have been placed by Immigration Customs Enforcement on Rodriguez, Garcia, and Cardona for deportation.
