chantalle@theheraldnewspapers.com Two confiscated SUV’s won first and second place at the National Dare Vehicle Competition. Two routine traffic stops, turned drug busts, allowed Pigeon Forge to confiscate two top of the line SUV’s. The vehicles, which were transporting narcotics, were converted into DARE vehicles to use in school programs and street patrols when needed. Officers Dennis Sutton and Jason Baimonte entered the vehicles in the competition and brought back first and second place. Pigeon Forge residents were concerned that their tax dollars were being wasted by buying luxury vehicles. “Some drug people donated them to us,” Commissioner Howard Reagan said with pleasure. “Thank you for seizing the drugs and getting these people off the street,” says Pigeon Forge Mayor Ralph Chance.
