State Tourism Commissioner to discuss Tennessee Tourism Marketing

The Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, Susan Hinchcliff Whitaker, will discuss Tennessee Tourism Marketing at a luncheon program hosted by the Knoxville chapter of the American Marketing Association (KAMA) on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Orangery. The program is open to all.
Whitaker’s discussion will mark the opening of the fall 2006 luncheon program series for KAMA. A veteran tourism marketing industry executive, Whitaker is responsible for the development and implementation of statewide tourism publicity and programs designed to stimulate growth of tourism in Tennessee. Prior to assuming her role with the state, Whitaker served as vice president of marketing for Dollywood. The Chicago native is a descendant of Tennessee’s first governor, John Sevier.
Seating for the event is limited. To register, call KAMA at (865) 539-1300, option 2. Tickets purchased by noon Friday, Sept. 8 are $25 for KAMA members and $32 for guests. Tickets at the door are $30 for KAMA members and $32 dollars for guests. Student tickets are $19. The Orangery is located at 5412 Kingston Pike. Parking is free.
