Small fire reported at local restaurant

The Sevierville Fire Department (SFD) responded to a reported fire at Damon’s Restaurant, 1640 Parkway at approximately 10:03 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2006. According to SFD Chief Mike Rawlings, the fire apparently started in a deep fat fryer in the restaurant kitchen and was confined to that area. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in about five minutes. The kitchen and parts of the building sustained smoke damage. No injuries were reported.
