Student’s at The King’s Academy had the chance to show the grandparent’s around campus Friday
The second annual Grandparent’s Day was held at the sprawling Seymour campus of The King’s Academy Friday.
The lunchroom lines weaved around the tables and back around to a makeshift entrance because of a maintenance project at the usual entrance, as a large number of grandparents delighted in the opportunity to spend the day with their grandkids at the kindergarten through 12th grade private school.
“We have four grandkids here and we’ve had a blast today visiting with them all,” said Larry Stubblefield, a funeral director from Morristown who was being toured through the school by granddaughters Annika and Elea Stout.
“We’re in excellent company too,” Stubblefield remarked, eluding to his tour guides. “It’s a beautiful school with nice facilities.”
Ellen Damoth’s granddaughter Danielle Harrison is a kindergartener at the school. Damoth spent the morning beside her granddaughter and friends at a table while the teacher went through the class’ daily lesson. Damoth said it was a nice day and a fun event.
“It’s been a lot of fun,” Damoth commented. “I love spending time with my granddaughter and this has been a really neat experience.”
