Sheriff Bruce R. Montgomery reported a methamphetamine arrest on Sunday, April 23, 2006. Officers of the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department along with agents from the Rocky Top Task Force consisting of field agents from the TBI, the DEA and other local law enforcement agencies conducted an operation which resulted in the arrest of Donald Edward Anderson, age 51 of 1001 East Shore Circle Stokesdale, NC. Anderson faces a criminal charge for possession of Methamphetamine for re-sale, which is a schedule II controlled substance. Anderson was booked in at the Sevier County Jail under a 120,000.00 bond. Anderson posted bond on Monday, April 24, 2006 and is expected to face arraignment on May 5, 2006 in Sevier County General Sessions Court. Agents seized approximately three ounces of Methamphetamine, a 2000 model Peter built truck, and a 53ft refrigerated trailer. During the execution of the search, agents had the daunting task of searching through 41,700 pounds of refrigerated produce to locate the contraband. Sheriff Montgomery added that this is an on-going investigation and subsequent arrests are expected.
