Ben & Jerry’s in Sevierville & Gatlinburg offer free scoops to benefit Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic It’s an ice cream dream come true - eight hours of all the free ice cream you can eat. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, April 25, 2006 - Ben & Jerry’s 27th annual Free Cone Day! As a way to thank customers for their support and to celebrate 28 years of scooping the chunkiest, funkiest ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet, Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops are giving it away! From Noon to 8:00 p.m., ice cream lovers can enjoy a free cup or cone of their favorite flavor at the Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops at Tanger Five Oaks in Sevierville and on the Parkway in Gatlinburg. Not only does Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day make the world’s taste buds jump for joy, but local non-profit organizations benefit as well. Around the world, scoop shops are opening their doors to serve up a free scoop of your favorite flavor (or better yet, a new one you’ve been wanting to try, like Turtle Soup, Peanut Butter Swirl or Lemonade Sorbet). While there is no charge for the scoop of love that Ben & Jerry’s will be dishing out to local residents, each store does accept donations that will be passed on to a worthy organization. In Sevier County, Ben & Jerry’s will donate 100% of all proceeds collected on Free Cone Day to Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic. The Mountain Hope Clinic is open 6 days a week to provide healthcare for people that live or work in Sevier County that have no health insurance. Services are provided to children and adults and fees are determined by the total household income of the patient. So grab a pal and come on down to have some ‘scream on us and help support a worthy cause! Like we said... Oh Happy Day!” For additional information about Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day (plus easy links to help you locate the scoop shop nearest you!), click on www.benjerry.com.
