Committee members appointed

The Steering Committee, made up of seven members of the Sevier County Commission, drew up a list of appointees for the individual commission committees, at their meeting Monday evening. The committee subsequently submitted the recommendations to the full county commission at their meeting, directly afterwards.
The county commissioners approved a resolution which authorizes and approves the appointed committee members. Appointees are made to serve one-year terms “to aid in the process of decision making and planning,” according to the resolution.
The Steering Committee assigned commissioners to serve on 16 different committees. The committees and their meeting times are as follows:
Budget/Insurance/Investment Committee: commissioners Ben Clabo, Warren Hurst, Ronnie Whaley, Darrell Lee, Gary Cole, Jeff McCarter and Buster Norton. The committee will meet the Tuesday before the commission meeting, at 5:30 p.m.
Transportation/Purchasing Committee: commissioners Phil King, Kent Woods, Tommy McGaha, Garold Van Rhea, Judy Godfrey, Ronnie Allen and Jim Keener. The committee will meet prior to the commission meeting, at 6:30 p.m.
Intergovernmental Committee: commissioners Greg Patterson, Kent Woods, Carroll Rauhuff, Jimmy Temple, Judy Godfrey, Ray Ogle and Bill Oakes. The committee will meet the Thursday before the commission meeting, at 5:00 p.m.
Emergency Services Committee: commissioners Fred Atchley, Buster Norton, Greg Patterson, Tony Profitt, James Dykes, Ray Ogle and Jimmy Temple. The committee will meet the Thursday before the commission meeting at 6:00 p.m.
Governmental Operations Committee: commissioners Ronnie Allen, Fred Atchley, Mike Hillard, Greg Patterson, Garold Van Rhea, Tim Hurst, Bill Oakes. The committee will meet prior to the commission meeting, at 5:30 p.m.
Steering/Communications Committee: commissioners Carroll Rauhuff, Phil King, Ray Ogle, Jeff McCarter, Darrell Lee, Judy Godfrey and James Dykes. The committee will meet prior to the commission meeting, at 5:00 p.m.
Planning Committee: commissioners Ben Clabo, Marty Hamilton, James Dykes, Tony Profitt, Garold Van Rhea, Ronnie Allen and Mike Hillard. The committee will meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
Water Committee: commissioners Warrant Hurst, Mike Hillard, Ben Clabo, Jim Keener, Tommy McGaha, Ronnie Whaley and Buster Norton. The committee will meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
Education Committee: commissioners Carroll Rauhuff, Warren Hurst, Tim Hurst, Darrell Lee, Gary Cole, Marty Hamilton and Ronnie Whaley. The committee will meet on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Board of Education Room.
E-911 Board: Commissioners Jeff McCarter and Mike Hillard. The committee will meet on the second Monday of each month at noon.
Beer Board: commissioners Bill Oakes, James Dykes, Buster Norton, Garold Van Rhea, Ben Clabo, Gene Byrd and Woody Austin. The committee will meet as called.
Fort Sanders Board: commissioner Tommy McGaha. The committee will meet as called.
Senior Citizens Board: commissioners Tommy McGaha and Bill Oakes.
Records Committee: commissioner Judy Godfrey. The committee will meet as called.
Agricultural Extension Board: commissioners Jimmy Temple, Warren Hurst, Judy Godfrey and Phil King. The committee will meet as called.
Delinquent Tax Committee: commissioners Larry Waters, Marty Hamilton, Jim Keener, Phil King and Kent Woods. The committee will meet as called.
