Pigeon Forge events receive IFEAhonors

Four Pigeon Forge special events have been recognized for outstanding achievement at the 50th Annual International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) Convention and Expo Experience in San Antonio. The events were chosen from more than 1,500 entries submitted from organizations worldwide. A Mountain Quiltfest received a Gold Award for Best Event Program Booklet and a Silver Award for Best Educational Event. Pigeon Forge Winterfest was awarded Gold for the Best Promotional Brochure. Wilderness Wildlife Week took two honors, a Gold for Best Environmental Event and a Bronze for Best Educational Event. A Silver Award for Best Hat went to the cap designed for the 2005 Dolly Parade. IFEA awards acknowledge the marketing and programming efforts in the special events industry. The organization is headquartered in Boise, Idaho, and is comprised of nearly 3,000 members. The award-winning Pigeon Forge Winterfest will kickoff for the 16th season on Nov. 3 in Patriot Park. The 16th Annual Wilderness Wildlife Week will take place Jan. 7-15, while the 12th Annual A Mountain Quiltfest is scheduled for March 8-12.
