Breakfast casserole and easy and tasty The baking season is around the corner. Yes, it is time to dust off that Bundt pan, stock up on parchment paper, and check the code dates on the baking powder. It is time to think football, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and gads- Christmas. This year, as every year –Pioneer brand is here to offer ideas. This week’s recipe is great for the holidays. It’s our ‘Morning - Brunch Casserole.’ Sausage Biscuit and Gravy Casserole Make this in the morning and all through the house will be the aroma of sausage and biscuits to add more anticipation for the morning. 6 frozen biscuits, such as Pioneer brand 1 package (12 ounces) ground sausage 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided 3 tablespoons butter, melted 6 large eggs, lightly beaten 2 cups milk 1 package Sausage Country Gravy or Country Gravy Mix, such as Pioneer brand Bake Frozen Biscuits according to instructions on package. Cool slightly. Cut across center to create top and bottom. Set aside. Brown crumbled sausage in skillet over medium heat. Drain. Layer biscuit bottom halves in an 11x8-inch baking dish that has been lightly coated with non-stick cooking spray. Sprinkle sausage over the biscuits. Sprinkle 11/2 cups of cheese over the top of sausage. Whisk eggs, milk, and gravy mix. Pour over the cheese. Layer biscuit tops browned side up. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes, sprinkle with remaining cheese, and return to the oven for 5 minutes or until a knife is clean when removed. Let stand 10 minutes before serviing.
