Mckee promoted to Senior SM

PIGEON FORGE — Joy McKee, CTIS, has been promoted to senior sales manager for the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism. McKee joined the tourism staff in January 2002 as group sales manager. Prior to that she was group sales coordinator for Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede and a group tour specialist for Steve Ellis Tours, a Pigeon Forge receptive company. She earned her American Bus Association Certified Travel Industry Specialist (CTIS) designation in 2004.As senior sales manager, McKee will oversee the department’s mission of promoting group visitation to Pigeon Forge, working in all areas of group sales including motorcoach and group tours, conventions and meetings, reunions, AAA Auto Clubs and travel agencies.“For more than three years, Joy has shown great dedication to the city’s group tourism industry,” said Leon Downey, executive director of the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism. “It’s always a good feeling when you can promote someone from within the department, and with Joy’s 16 years of experience, she was the natural choice to lead our department’s group sales efforts.”Information about group sales in Pigeon Forge is available by calling  1-800-285-7557.
