Air quality forecast

published: October 17 2005 12:00 AM updated:: October 17 2005 12:00 AM
For this week, model guidance still indicating that an upper level energy currently moving across the Northern Pacific Ocean will carve out a deep trough over the Western states by the end of the weekend, with a strong low cutting off over the Southwestern U.S. by early next week.  With these strong height falls indicated over the Southwestern States, should see in response some upper level ridging develop further east over our area for the first half of next week.  This will provide continued dry and possibly slightly warmer weather for the first half of next week. The cut off low is then forecast by most of the global models to eject out to the northeast by the middle to end of next week.  This system may bring our next chance for precipitation, but it is still way too far out to forecast.  The TVA model is predicting good conditions throughout the forecast period.  Will agree.  PM levels currently moderate.  Expect levels to decrease somewhat with the weak boundary.  However I think the boundary is to weak to bring good conditions.  There are several areas of moderate conditions behind this boundary.  Will stay with low moderate conditions
