A convicted sex offender is back in jail after being accused of targeting a six-year-old girl playing outside her home in Knox County.

Roberts was convicted for aggravated rape and aggravated sexual battery in Knox County in 1990.
Cocke County Depute indicted
A Cocke County Sheriff’s deputy has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of mail fraud and perjury.
Deputy John Wayne Black filed a civil lawsuit against Suzuki, saying that the motorcycle he bought was defective. Prosecutors have said that Black lied about the cause of the crash and that the claim was merely a scheme to collect money from the manufacturer.
The charges are part of a four-year investigation into public corruption in the Cocke County.
Goody’s shareholders hoped for more
Shareholders of Goody’s Family Clothing have filed lawsuits challenging the store chain’s buyout agreement.
Goody’s and Sun Capital Partners reached an agreement in which Sun Capital would pay $8.00 a share.
Shareholders are upset that the company only negotiated with Sun Capital in the deal when GMM Capital and Prentice Capital Management had offered more money.
Goody’s announced Monday a finalized agreement, worth more than $272 million, to be bought-out by the private-investment firm.
Goody’s employees about 11,000 employees in 20 states.
Goody’s CEO Robert Goodfriend and his family own about 42 percent of the company’s shares.
Hamblen Co. man wanted
An alleged murderer from Hamblen County is now on the TBI’s Ten Most Wanted list.
Glenn Roy Edwards has been accused in the October 2003 murder of Kevin Dewayne Jones. Another man, Nathanial Wells has already been convicted in the same crime, for stabbing Jones. The victim’s body was found on the side of a road near Morristown with fatal stab wounds.
Wells is serving six years for the crime.
Authorities believe that Wells had help in moving the victim’s body to another location.
