news@theheraldnewspapers.com Dennis Ruddy, a 30-year veteran of the nuclear industry, was relieved of his duties Tuesday as the head of the BWXT Y-12 nuclear plant in Oak Ridge, according to reports. Deputy General Manager Steve Liedle has been named as interim replacement. The company plans a nationwide search to find Ruddy’s successor. According to a report from WATE, Ruddy is being transferred to corporate headquarters in Lynchburg, Va., for reassignment. The new replacement has been a deputy general manager at BWXT Y-12 since January 2004. A BWXT Y-12 spokesman said that Ruddy’s leaving Oak Ridge was a corporate personnel matter and would not be discussed in the media.
