Hot news for Sevier real estate

Smoky Mountain area real estate agents saw 42 percent more sales in 2005, as compared to last year. Colonial Real Estate, Inc. discussed Sevier County real estate statistics, some of the company’s featured property listings and messages of season’s greetings in their Happy Holidays edition of their monthly newsletter. All together, realtors in the area have sold $442,334,069 in homes this year. That includes 505 more residential single family homes sold than last year. Average prices for single family homes rose to a record high of $203,559. According to the newsletter, “the hottest market area continues to be Pigeon Forge with over $88 million sold this year.” Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Wears Valley and Bluff Mountain round out the top five. The Colonial newsletter also features the goings-on of commercial properties specialist, David Gothard, and residential sales director Ben Hughes, as well as some of its associated realtors like Ron Rader, Karen Spence, Doug Morgan, Jim Ussery, Jeanne Sims and Chuck Ottolini.
