published: November 30 2005 12:00 AM updated:: November 30 2005 12:00 AM
Just how important is correct business etiquette in today’s work environment? What do others expect of you as the host of a business luncheon or dinner? Laura Barron will lead a workshop on these topics on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 9 a.m. to noon, at the UT Conference Center, 600 Henley Street. Sponsored by UT Professional & Personal Development, Barron will present the five commandments for meeting and greeting others and share the real reason for mingling at business-sponsored functions. She will discuss appropriate business manners and guidelines on how to receive good service and how much to tip. Participants will walk away with a plan of action on how to make a lasting positive impression. The course fee is $89. Students who park in the Locust Street/University Parking Garage can have their parking validated. For complete course description, registration information or a catalog, call UT Professional & Personal Development at 865-974-0150 or visit the website at www.outreach.utk.edu/ppd.
