O Negative Type Blood needed

MEDIC Regional Blood Center is in need for type O negative blood. O negative donors are asked to please visit the donor center located at 1601 Ailor Avenue or stop by a community blood drive in your area. For a complete blood drive schedule log onto www.medicblood.com. O negatives are most often used in emergency situations when blood typing is not possible. Blood drives scheduled in your community are listed. December 5, Jefferson Memorial Hospital, 110 Hospital Drive, 10:00am – 6:00pm, MEDIC Mobile. December 9, Kentucky Fried Chicken, 670 Highway 92 South, 10:00am – 6:00pm, MEDIC Mobile. All donors will receive 10% off of their food purchase that day. Medic Regional Blood Center must collect 350 units of blood every day in order to fulfill hospital orders. MEDIC is the sole supplier of blood and blood products to 21 surrounding counties and 28 area hospitals. A single donation can save up to three lives! Donors should be 17 or older, weigh more than 110 lbs. and have positive identification. All who give blood will receive a free MEDIC t-shirt, free cholesterol screening (no fasting required) and MEDIC Blood Coverage Program which exempts the donor and his/her IRS Dependents from paying blood processing and collection fees at any hospital in the U.S. if a transfusion is needed.
