Mrs. Sevier County to hold benefit dance

published: November 29 2005 12:00 AM updated:: November 29 2005 12:00 AM
Tammy Walker, 2005 Mrs. Sevier County, has organized a benefit dance on Saturday, December 10 to support the Boys and Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains. The family friendly dance will be from 7:30 – 11:00 pm at the Sevierville branch of the Boys and Girls Club. Live music by The Silver Eagle Band, food provided by Subway and Tammy’s many volunteers, door prizes and even a visit by Santa with goody bags for the kids make it a wonderful escape from the holiday rush and an opportunity for families to spend some quality time together during this hectic time of year. Tickets may be purchased at any of the five branches of the Boys and Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains located in Gatlinburg, Kodak, Jefferson County, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville. Prices are $15 per couple, $10 for an individual and $5 for children ages 7 – 12. Kids 6 and under are free. All ticket sales will benefit the Boys and Girls Club. The Boys and Girls Club program was Mrs. Walker’s platform for the Mrs. Sevier County competition. During the time she was a single mother, her daughter was a member of a Boys and Girls Club. “I saw a big difference in her attitude and confidence level,” according to Tammy. “I don’t know what we would have done without the Boys and Girls Club.” As Mrs. Sevier County, Tammy Walker will compete at the state level in Nashville on April 21, 2006 for the title of Mrs. Tennessee. For more information on the Mrs. International program or the benefit dance for the Boys and Girls Club, please contact Tammy at (423) 715-7697.
