The Tennessee General Assembly will vote on many difficult issues during the session now in progress. Senator Raymond Finney has compiled a list of questions he wishes to ask area citizens for their preferences on certain issues which will come before the Legislature this year. A total of 24 questions ranging from Malpractice awards to legalization of Marijuana for medical use are on the questioner. “These are some of the issues that will come up during this year’s legislation and we wanted to get a feel for what citizens what” Senator Finney stated to The Herald. “I want to be responsive to the citizens’ needs and this is one way in which to do that.” In another move to be in tuned to the people, Senator Finney said, “I’m in the planning stages of holding town meetings to know face to face what the citizens want and need and expect. The closer we are to the people the more responsive we’ll be to do their wishes.” Senator Finney’s staff will compile results, which he will share with this district’s House members, Representatives Montgomery, McCord, and Overbey. The complete questioner will be printed in Tuesday’s paper for those that wish to participate in the survey. As the results become available, they will be printed in The Herald .
