Bredesen statement on open records decision

“In my 14-year career in public service, I’ve taken pride in overseeing open, honest and ethical administrations at the state and local levels. As Governor, I’ve insisted on an atmosphere of openness at every level of state government. From Day One, we’ve held open budget hearings and fielded untold numbers of requests for documents and materials across state government.
“Today, Davidson County Chancery Court confirmed our commitment to openness with respect to the Bureau of TennCare. I’m pleased this matter has been brought to a swift conclusion. Moving forward, I want to assure every taxpayer and every member of the press that my Administration remains fully committed to open records and open government. We will continue to do whatever it takes to be responsive and responsible to the public we serve.”
