Ft. Sanders Sevier to host Children’s Hospital parenting classes beginning in March The Children’s Hospital Healthy Kids program has an exciting new partner. Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center is working with Children’s Hospital to grow the Healthy Kids program and better serve the children and families of East Tennessee, especially those in Sevier County. Beginning in March, Ft. Sanders Sevier will host a variety of Children’s Hospital Healthy Kids classes, including Infant/Child CPR and Safe Sitter. Infant/Child CPR provides caregivers the necessary rescue skills for a child that is in cardiac or respiratory arrest. The class covers choking, rescue breathing and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, and home safety. Safe Sitter is a national organization that teaches safe babysitting to adolescents. Participants learn how to spot an emergency, when to call 911 and rescue techniques that could save another child’s life. Upcoming classes at Ft. Sanders Sevier include Infant/Child CPR on March 21 and April 18 and Safe Sitter classes on March 26 and April 23; additional classes are offered at Children’s Hospital in Knoxville. This partnership will allow greater flexibility and additional options for interested individuals to find a class time and location that best fits their schedule. These new options will allow the Children’s Hospital ] Healthy Kids program to broaden its coverage of East Tennessee and provide more educational opportunities to the families that live in these areas. All classes will be scheduled through Children’s Hospital’s Healthy Kids office; there is no registration for Healthy Kids classes directly through Ft. Sanders Sevier. Visit the Healthy Kids section of www.etch.com or call (865) 541-8262 to learn more about all Healthy Kids class offerings, including the new schedule at Ft. Sanders Sevier.
