Grainger County woman Search grows; Sheriff asks for help from the public
Over a hundred volunteers aided in the search for a woman presumed dead. Volunteer Fire Fighters, friends and acquaintances and strangers all joined in to try to bring closure for the family.
The search was conducted on foot and four-wheelers on and around Clinch Mountain.
Jackie Dalton, 28, a mother of three, is the focus of a search. Her fiancé left an alleged suicide not claiming that Dalton’s body would never be found.
The couple apparently lived together for at least six years.
The thing that makes this search more difficult than others is that there isn’t a specific area to search. The TBI may ask volunteers from surrounding counties to assist Monday.
Lighters are going to be banned
Federal security officials have announced a ban on all butane lighters aboard airplanes. The ban applies to people carrying lighters “on their person” or in their carry-on luggage. Such lighters are already banned from checked baggage. The Transportation Security Administration says lighters will also be prohibited in airports beyond security checkpoints. April is the target date for complete enforcement of the new ban.
