SMS presents Beta Beauties

Look out Miss America! It was an unusual contest to state it mildly. As a fundraising event for the Junior Beta Club, Seymour Middle School held their Beta Beauty contest. Over thirty couples participated as girls dressed as boys and the boys donned girls’ attire. A total of $2200 was raised for the cause and the winning couples came from Ms. Sivyer, Mrs. Wilson, and Ms. Ballard’s homeroom. Tiffany Berry and Matt Tipton, the sixth grade winners, dressed in very casual attire and paraded across the gymnasium as “Anne and Bob”. “Fran and Maurice” were portrayed by seventh graders, Chase Ketron and Haylee Haggard. The eighth grade winners were “Jethro and Ellie May” who are better known at Chris Ballard and Morgan Weber. Although talent competition was displayed at the event with the “girls” dancing and hoola-hooping, it came down to which homeroom class raised the most amount of money. Congratulations to the winning teachers and their classes.
