Missing Florida girl still missing More than 250 police officers and volunteers turned out Sunday to search for Jessica even though torrential rains fell and a tornado watch was in effect. So far there are few clues stated Citrus County Sheriff Jeff Dawsy. Sunday’s drenching weather didn’t hamper searchers. They headed out on foot, horseback and all-types of vehicles. Jessica was last seen Wednesday night when her grandmother tucked her into bed in their home about 60 miles north of Tampa. Her father discovered her missing Thursday morning. Suspect arrested in BTK murders Wichita Authorities announced Saturday that Dennis Rader, 59, who was arrested without incident in one of this city’s most puzzling mysteries: the hunt for a man blamed for at least eight slayings beginning more than 31 years ago. He dubbed himself the “BTK” killer for his preferred method: bind, torture, kill. “The bottom line: BTK is arrested,” Police Chief Norman Williams said Saturday, setting off applause from the dozens of people in the City Council chambers. According to reports, Rader was a supervisor with the Park City Compliance Department. In addition to the eight slayings blamed on the BTK killer, Sheriff Gary Steed of Sedgwick County told reporters Saturday that investigators were trying to determine whether Rader was responsible for at least two other killings in 1985 and in 1991. Bush wants to fix Social Security President Bush, returned from his trip to Europe, will renew his desire to overhaul Social Security. Bush said he plans to get the word out to younger workers that the retirement system will slide into bankruptcy if changes aren’t made. The Social Security issue is a hot topic, and Bush said he is “pleased with the progress of the national discussion on this issue.”
