Sevier County Sheriff’s Department working in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation seized more than $15,000 worth of illegal narcotics and arrested a Sevierville man Thursday morning. Jerry Lynn Seaton, 51, of 1140 Middle Creek Road, Sevierville, was charged with four felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to resale. When sheriff’s deputies and FBI agents searched Seaton’s home, they uncovered nine vials of methamphetamine, 1,236 doses of hydrocodone, 495 tablets of methadone and 90 tablets of Valium. Law enforcement agents also seized more than $13,000 in cash. “We have made a major dent in the drug trade in Sevier County,” said Sevier County Sheriff’s Captain Randy Parton. Seaton was arraigned Friday in Sevier County Circuit Court where his bond was set at $100,000. He is currently incarcerated in the Sevier County Jail. “Quality teamwork from state, federal and local law enforcement agencies has resulted in removing a dangerous drug dealer from our streets,” said Parton. Parton said felony possession of methodone and methamphetamine each carry a prison sentence of between eight to 12 years; possession of Valium carries a prison sentence of two to four years; and possession of hydrocodone carries a sentence of three to six years.
