Looking for fireworks

The highly successful and anticipated Seymour Skyburst, the Herald’s Fourth of July annual event needs an adequate location to hold this year’s event. Last year, over 7,000 people attended the annual Seymour Herald Fourth of July Fireworks Event at the Seymour Community Park. The year before, over 5,000 attended. This year the publication was expecting nearly 9,000. “There are so many things to consider to have an ideal location for this event,” stated Joe Karl, publisher of The Herald Newspapers. “It was obvious the parking and other facilities were not designed to handle that volume of people at the community park, therefore at the end of the event last year, we began searching for a Seymour location for the annual event to better serve the local community,” Karl continued. “After several months, we located another, what we thought, was an ideal location. We were set, so we thought. Unfortunately, that location has recently become unavailable and now we are without a location. We are unable to use the Seymour Community Park because they are using the Fourth of July period to reseed the grounds for AYSO, the major financial supporter of the park.” If you are aware of a location in Seymour that could be used for the Fourth of July Event, contact The Herald Newspapers office at 577-6609.
