When Sevier Home Baptist Church began in the early 1960’s, it was part of a mission of Sevier Heights Baptist Church.
When New Vision Baptist Church formed in October of 1999 at The King’s Academy in Seymour, they moved to a storefront on Chapman Highway.
Now, the two congregations are merging, and forming the New Sevier Home Baptist Church, at 1435 Tipton Station Road in Knoxville.
Together since January of 2004, the members of the two congregations are now celebrating a community outreach program.
On the Fourth of July, the church will hold an Independence Day Celebration, featuring free hot dogs and drinks, bluegrass and gospel music, and fun and games for your whole family.
Starting at 3:30 in the afternoon, the celebration will continue until the last family has had their fill of fun.
The church also plans Vacation Bible School starting Sunday, July 11 and lasting through July 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The children’s bible study is planned around a summer Olympics theme.
Crafts, refreshments, puppets, and music are all slated for the VBS.
The church holds Sunday School and worship each Sunday morning at 9:30 nad 10:45 a.m.
The pastor is Chris Francis, who welcomes everyone to join the congregation in worship. For more information, call 573-3324.
