Small plane crashes and knocks out station A small plane crashed early Sunday morning into a California radio station tower, killing the husband and wife on board. The Cessna 182 single engine plane struck the KFI radio tower, knocking it to the ground. A small fire had to be extinguished, but no other people were injured on the ground. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the pilot made no distress signals prior to crashing. The plane was about a mile from the Fullerton Airport when he hit the tower, the radio station, which is talk radio was off the air for approximately an hour. Father burns Marines van and then apologizes Carlos Arrendondo was celebrating his 44th birthday at his home on August 25th, and expecting a call from his son that was in Iraq. Instead a van with Marines pulled up to his home and told him his son had been killed in Najaf. Arrendondo got “very upset” and according to reports grabbed a propane torch and gasoline can out of his garage, ran to the van that the Marines arrived in and smashed the window, poured gasoline inside and climbed inside. Arrendondo was burned over a quarter of his body when he turned on the torch. According to officials, he claims it was an accident. The marines put out the fire on his body. Arrendondo met privately with the Marines on Friday at a base in Florida to apologize to the Marines that came to tell him his son was dead. At the end of the meeting, he saluted the men and embraced all of them. Baby cut from mothers womb found, two arrested Less than 24 hours after a woman was found in Missouri by her mother, the baby that was reportedly cut from her womb has been found. A woman in Kansas was reportedly showing off the babe as her own has been arrested in connection with the murder and another is under arrest also, but reports are sketchy about the second arrest. According to reports Lisa Montgomery had shown the baby to people in a diner, passing the baby off as her own, hours later she was arrested. The infant is reportedly in good condition and has been returned to her family in Missouri. Montgomery is the mother of two teenage children and according to reports had been pregnant recently. Authorities are not saying what happened in that pregnancy, but said Montgomery lied to her husband about what happened. She will be charged with kidnapping along with the murder of Bobbi Jo Stinnett, 23, whom Montgomery admitted to strangling prior to cutting the baby out of the womb. Stinnett was eight months pregnant. Montgomery is due in federal court Monday. President Bush named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year President George W. Bush has been named Time magazines Person of the Year for the second time. According to the editors, they named the president for “reshaping the rules of politics to fit his ten-gallon hat leadership style.” The magazine credits Bush for “sharpening the debate until the choices bled” and reframing reality to match his design.” President Bush joins six other presidents that have been named Person of the Year twice, they are, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. Franklin Roosevelt was named three times. Huge crash closes I-80 in Pennsylvania A crash involving up to 80 vehicles has closed westbound Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania, about 11 miles from the Ohio border. According to reports the crash occurred in snowy conditions late Sunday morning. Medical crews and emergency workers are attending to injured people, but there is no report of deaths as of yet. The highway will remain closed until it can be cleaned up, and officials aren’t saying when that will be at this time.
