Area residents among graduates of Tusculum College

Two hundred and ninety-six students were graduated during commencement ceremonies Dec. 11, at Tusculum College.Among those graduating with bachelor of science degrees in organizational management were Deana C. Fain of Sevierville, Jonathan L. Millsaps of Seymour, and Catherine L. Trapp of Kodak.               Tusculum College, the oldest college in Tennessee and the 28th oldest in the nation, is a civic arts institution committed to developing educated citizens distinguished by academic excellence, public service and qualities of Judeo-Christian character.  Tusculum is also one of four colleges in the nation that uses the block system, a focused calendar that provides a distinctive learning environment with greater individual interaction between faculty and students. Nine hundred and sixty-four students attended classes this fall in the traditional academic program and about 1,300 are enrolled in the Graduate and Professional Studies program that accommodates working adults.
