Fort Sanders Sevier aids SPS with recycling

Fort Sanders Sevier Medical Center has recently initiated a newspaper-recycling program benefiting Sevierville Primary School. The program was created when it was learned that the neighboring students collect newspapers to recycle and earn money for their school. Prior to this, Fort Sanders Sevier was gathering a multitude of newspapers that had been given free to patients. Fort Sanders Sevier thought that they could assist the students in their efforts and arrangements were quickly made for designated newspaper recycling stations to be set up within the medical center so that employees and volunteers could drop off newspapers collected both at work and at home. The money received for the recycled newspapers would then be given to back Sevierville Primary School. “We have a wonderful partnership with the Sevierville Primary School, especially with our Nursing Home residents and the students,” said Ellen Wilhoit, chief administrative officer. “This is a great opportunity to help the school raise funds to support their many needs and give back to the community just as the community continues to support us, as well as join the ‘Keep Sevier Beautiful’ efforts to promote recycling and save our natural resources.”
