Seymour Business Park to host weekend rummage sale, open house with WIVK broadcast Visitors to the Seymour Business Park at 500 Maryville Highway in Seymour will be amazed at the deals being offered by residents of the Cherokee Hills, Shenandoah and surrounding subdivisions this Friday and Saturday, April 30 and May 1. “There will be tons of tables and dozens of deals,” said Joe Karl, owner of the Business Park. “This is our third annual event of this nature, and we’re looking forward to an even larger response than last year.” The Seymour Shuffle rummage sale will feature all manner of household and garage goods, from baby items to furniture. “There are so many different kinds of items it’s hard to keep up with them all,” stated Michele Karl, co-publisher of the Herald Group and noted author of five books on collecting. “Speaking as a collector, there will be a lot of items I’ll be paying close attention to throughout the day.” WIVK-FM will be on hand with a live broadcast throughout the day on Saturday. Attendees of the event on Saturday will also be treated to a special first-ever event: the Herald Newspaper’s Open House. Visitors will be able to tour the Herald’s facilities, which include a Goss Community Web Press, along with the art and news departments. “This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity,” stated David Grimes, managing editor of the Herald Group. “Never before have we offered to show the general public what goes into making our newspaper and how the process proceeds.” “We think attendees will be impressed when they view the incredible creativity and hard work that our staff applies to presenting the Seymour Herald and the Smoky Mountain Herald,” Grimes said. The Smoky Mountain Herald recently began publishing on a semi-weekly basis, offering both a weekday edition on Tuesdays and a weekend edition on Fridays.
