As an alternative to selling cookie dough, candy or wrapping paper to raise much-needed funds, this spring the children at Sevierville Primary will be selling their own published work. A local book publisher, Insight Publishing, will produce a compilation of the children’s poems, letters, letters, essays, stories and artwork, entitled “Our Kids Shine!” The book features over 700 entries from the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grader at SPS. The childre began taking orders from family, friends, neighbors, and businesses beginning March 22. All preorders needed to be in by April 2nd but books can be purchased after this date by calling Sevierville Primary School at 453-2824. “The children have written fabulous poems and stories,” says Russ Hollingsworth, Vice President of Insight Publishing. “Everyone who looks at their submissions breaks into a big smile. They’ve written about their heroes and their parents and friends. They have incredible imaginations.” The book is approximately 250 pages in length and features a full color cover. It has an official ISBN number and is available on Amazon.com once the fundraising campaign is complete. The book will sell for $15.00 and SPS will keep $7.50 from each sale.
