Driver seriously

Sevierville Police responded to a reported single vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of Winfield Dunn Pkwy. (Hwy. 66), on the Ray L. Reagan Bridge, Thursday, September 4, at approximately 4:35 p.m. According to Sevierville Police Officer Tim Coulter, it appeared that a 1948 Chevrolet Cabriolet had hit the bridge retaining wall on the east side of the bridge, while traveling south on Hwy. 66. The driver of the vehicle, 54-year old Janice Wood of Jefferson City, TN, received serious injuries and was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center via Lifestar air ambulance. There were no passengers in the vehicle. The Sevierville Fire Depart-ment and Sevier County Ambulance Service responded and assisted at the scene. Traffic at the bridge was slowed for approximately one hour following the incident.
